Signs were simple in the biblical days. Humans were so dense that they believed that a good crop meant that Mother Gaia was happy with them. God was also very direct with his signs, smiting people who disobeyed him and parting seas to save his chosen ones. But as history progressed, humans began to create their own signs. At first, they were simple and thus easily understood and even followed. There were simple store signs like “Le Shoppe” and eventually signs to alert travelers to the distance between the sign they were reading and the town ahead. But now people have become so dense that signs mean nothing to them. So I am forced to wonder why bother? Read more…

Well distorted promised it, an A&D every other week. It just so happened that he and another friend visited me down here in California during the past week, so I’m a little behind. I spent last night killing the last 150 pigeons I needed in GTA IV and spent this morning finishing up to 100% Completion. Then I played the new Nazi Zombie map for… right, let’s just call it “awhile”. Now without further ado, here’s your Acclaim and Disdain for March 27th. Read more…

It seems to be very difficult for some people. It’s not limited to students either. Professors are some of the most common offenders when it comes to communicating poorly in a classroom situation. In the first half of my rant I will focus on my biology professor, then I will delve into some of the annoying things that students do when they attempt to participate in classes. Stay close while I take you on this exciting roller coaster ride, which ends in the car stalling at the lowest possible point, and me questioning why some people are allowed in college, students and professors alike. I know it has been a while since I’ve written anything, but after seeing today’s news I couldn’t resist writing an Acclaim & Disdain for old time’s sake. This will not be a weekly feature, instead we will do it every two weeks. Hopefully we can keep up with this less demanding schedule. Read more…

It took me awhile to realize that there are a lot of things that make me angry, especially related to my trade of writing. My last rant went over the horrors of the female video blog, or “the vagina monoblogs” as distorted coined it a few days ago. I thought the only horrible side of blogging was vlogs, but I managed to find something else worth ranting about. Read more…

You may not remember me, I’m shadow. I write for the site on occasion and recently I’ve went deep under cover to find a source of distortion in this world. Not even my good friend distorted knew I was doing research for a rant, hopefully this finally being posted is a pleasant surprise. Recently I’ve been on YouTube, which has fallen far from YouTopia as I’ve wrote about long ago. This article, written more than a year after the corporations demanded YouTube remove copy-righted material from it’s website, focuses on the wide range of crap that has filled the void left by the removal of intellectual and humorous material. Sometimes I wonder why I even bother watching or reading the news. I start to become disillusioned about staying informed due to the kinds of sick behaviors that are so often reported on. How often to I have to hear about a rape investigation, or about a doctor taking advantage of his anesthetized patients, or a teacher using his or her position to solicit sex from their pupils? (And no, I don’t mean they’re literally soliciting sex from their own eyes, obviously.) Today this general feeling of mine came to a boiling point as I read the local news. Read more…

Well, it’s the new year which means it’s time for the Rantdown! Because we now only have two writers and we haven’t been flooding the Internet with insightful and compelling writings as regularly as in the past, the Rantdown will be restricted to just five rants. But I promise, they are good ones. So here it is, Rantdown 2008. Read more…

Happy Thanksgiving to all of our readers. What are we thankful for at Exreality this Thanksgiving? A number of things: the election, idiots, bad drivers, moronic teachers, and ignorant hate crimes. Thanks to the idiots who have given us countless topics on which to rant. So enjoy your turkey and watching the Seattle Seahawks getting their asses handed to them. I can’t think of anything more synonymous with Thanksgiving.

A few weeks ago, I received a forwarded e-mail to all aerospace students from a 2nd year student, which was initially from the Chapter President of the Society of Black Engineers and Scientists (NSBE). This e-mail documented a hate crime that occurred on campus and how angry he was about it and asked us to come to an impromptu rally the next day. Brilliant idea in theory, but God this entire thing has just degraded into a clusterfuck. Read more…
